Obituary---C. H. Sherwood
Charles Hart Sherwood, formerly of west of Anderson, Born in Missouri April 7, 1878, died at his home in Grove Okla., May 2, 1961,at the age of 83. Ha was married to Nora Combs in Long Beach Calif. Dec. 2, 1929. He retired from the Pacific Borax Company, Long Beach,Calif., and moved to Grove seven years ago. He was a member of the Baptist church many years.
He is survived by his wife Nora, of the home, and one step-son, Archie McDonald of Pueblo, Colo., four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 2 pm, Thursday, May 4th, with
Rev. Clay Crosby of Anderson officiating. Services were in the Worley funeral home chapel at Grove. Internment was in Olympus cemetery, Grove Okla.
Tuesday morning a niece was sent to notify Charles H. Sherwood of Grove that his sister, Minnie Crosby, had died. On arrival at the Sherwood home she found Mr. Sherwood dead on the floor at the bedside of his wife, who was so ill that she perhaps did not even know that her husband had died. He apparently died earlier that night, about the time or before his sister, accordinng to Rev. Clay Crosby.
Charkas H. Sherwood is a former resident of this community having formerly lived west of Anderson on 76 highway in the residence now occupied by Fyrne West. He is an uncle of Olney Sherwood.
